Hay River Heritage Centre

The Hay River Heritage Centre, located in Hay River's Old Town on Vale Island, occupies the community's former Hudson's Bay Company store, built in 1949. It showcases the history, heritage and culture of the Hay River region in the Northwest Territories, with exhibits on Métis and K'atl'odeeche Dene culture, period objects, fossils, and a deep collection of historic Hay River photographs. The museum has been closed for repairs following 2022 flood damage and is targeting a 2026 reopening.
