Historic Markerville Creamery
Built in 1902 by the Tindastoll Butter & Cheese Manufacturing Association, the Markerville Creamery operated continuously until 1972. During 70 years of operation, it won many buttermaking quality awards and was recognized as a major production contender worldwide. In 1986 the dilapidated building was fully restored by the Stephan G. Stephansson Icelandic Society as a museum depicting the commercial butter making industry set in 1932.
