The Islands History Museum is housed in the historic Lent House in Freeport, Nova Scotia, and is operated by the Islands Historical Society. The museum focuses on the maritime and local heritage of the Islands region, with exhibits on fishing, boat-building, and island life from the 1930s and 40s, including a working fish shed. It is also home to a notable exhibit on Joshua Slocum, the first person to sail solo around the world, who set out from nearby Brier Island. The museum is open seasonally with free admission.
