L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site

L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site sits at the tip of Newfoundland's Great Northern Peninsula and preserves the first known evidence of European presence in the Americas. The site features Norse archaeological remains and recreated Viking encampment buildings, earning UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 1978. The site is open seasonally from June to October each year.
