McCulloch House Museum and Genealogy Centre

The McCulloch House Museum and Genealogy Centre in Pictou, Nova Scotia, is the home of the Pictou County Genealogy and Heritage Society. Located at the historic McCulloch House, the centre celebrates Scottish heritage and the story of the Scots in the New World, with a particular focus on the Pictou County settlers who arrived aboard the ship Hector in 1773. The centre maintains an extensive archive of photographs, maps, newspapers, books, and family records, and has developed HAGGIS — the Hector Archiving Gateway and Genealogical Indexing System — to assist genealogy researchers. Regular events include the Thomas McCulloch Darby Lectures and community exhibitions. The centre also features the Sherbrooke Cottage and Pictou Academy heritage sites.
