Museo La Fortaleza
La Fortaleza is an archaeological museum and park in the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, in the south of Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain. The site preserves the remains of a pre-Hispanic settlement of the ancient Canarian indigenous population and was declared a Bien de Interés Cultural (BIC — protected heritage site) in 2017. Archaeological excavations began at the site in 2015 and have progressively revealed significant stratified remains. The museum grew from a former Interpretation Centre of around 580 square metres and has since expanded to incorporate open-air excavation areas, terraces, and surrounding land. It offers educational programmes focused on patrimonial heritage, hosts temporary exhibitions alongside its permanent displays, and conducts ongoing archaeological research.
