Cité de la préhistoire

The Cité de la Préhistoire at Aven d'Orgnac is a modern, interactive museum tracing 350,000 years of human prehistory in the Ardèche region of France, displayed alongside the Grand Site de France of the Aven d'Orgnac, the spectacular cave system discovered in 1935. The museum showcases authentic artefacts and uses immersive scenography to bring prehistoric daily life to its visitors. Outdoor demonstrations and workshops — covering hunting techniques, fire-making and the Créa-Magnon craft sessions — are run by mediators around the museum.
