Castle of Good Hope

The Castle of Good Hope is a 17th-century bastion fort in Cape Town, South Africa, originally built by the Dutch East India Company between 1666 and 1679. It is the oldest existing colonial building in the country and is considered the best-preserved example of 17th-century architecture of its kind in the world. Today it operates as a museum and event venue, with guided tours, exhibitions, gift shop and family-friendly amenities.
