Julius Gordon Africana Centre

The Julius Gordon Africana Centre, housed in the historic Versfeld House (1880) at 29 Lower Long Street in Riversdale, holds the largest collection of Thomas Bowler paintings in South Africa. The permanent collection features works by Jan Volschenk, Johannes Meintjes, Irma Stern, Pierneef, Maggie Loubser, Gregoire Boonzaaier, and others, alongside Khoisan rock paintings and stone implements, Africana furniture, and the history of the Riversdale region.
