V. K. Byalynitsky-Birulya Art Museum in Byelynichi
The Art Museum was opened on May 29, 1970, in accordance with Order No. 58 of November 5, 1969, of the Mogilev Regional Department of Culture. This was a significant event in the cultural life of not only the Mogilev regions, but also of all of Belarus. A testament to the desire of the Belynichi people to perpetuate the memory of one of their famous countrymen, the People's Artist of Belarus and Russia, Academician of Painting — V. Byalynitsky-Birulya.An artist of exceptional talent and skill, he entered the art world as a mature master, continuing the best traditions of Russian landscape painting of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He created a number of paintings depicting the grandeur and rugged beauty of northern Russia and its other historical sites. A special place in his creative legacy is occupied by a series of works depicting the unique and melody-filled colors of the natural landscape of his native Belarusian land.In addition to works by Vitold Byalynitsky-Birulya, the museum's collection also features works by many renowned Belarusian artists — People's Artists of Belarus: M. Savitsky, S. Selikhanov, I. Misko, L. Shchemelev, G. Poplavsky, E. Zaitsev, and Honored Artists D. Aleinik, A. Baranovsky, A. Barkhatkov, I. Dmukhailo, L. Dudarenko, A. Kozlovsky, P. Krokholev, and others.The Art Museum in Belynichi looks confidently to the future and is already becoming a cultural venue for the city in the broadest sense of the word. The branch hosts numerous events that are significant for the entire region, opens interesting exhibitions, carries out museum and educational activities on an ongoing basis, and maintains ongoing cooperation with other social institutions.
