Museo Irpino del Risorgimento
The Museo Irpino is the principal public museum of the province of Avellino in Campania, southern Italy. Founded in the late nineteenth century, it is housed across multiple premises in Avellino and contains diverse collections spanning archaeology, fine arts, presepi (nativity scenes from around the world), and local historical documents. Its archaeological holdings present finds from prehistoric, Samnite, and Roman settlements across the Irpinia region, while the art galleries display paintings and sculptures from the medieval through to the modern period. The museum's rich presepe collection, drawn from nativity traditions worldwide, forms one of its most distinctive and internationally recognised sections.
