Museum of the Belarusian Maliavanka

It is located at 13, Dachnaya Street. In this object of the museum-reserve "Maliavanka" — traditional Belarusian carpets painted with colors — are exhibited. It is here that the collection of painted carpets of the Zaslauje Museum-Reserve, which is currently the richest in Belarus, has found a new incarnation. Original carpets by Yazep Drozdovich and Elena Kish occupy an honorable place in the halls of the permanent exposition, while in the hall of the temporary exposition there are carpets by Fedor Sukhovila, Ippolit Vorsa, Nicanor Zosik and other famous and unknown authors. "Maliavanka" are memorable to many people since childhood, as they hung on the walls in simple peasant houses, decorating their modest interiors, in those houses where grandparents lived, where their grandchildren learned the world and grew up. This kind of folk art has left a significant trace in the history and culture of our country, so it should be properly preserved and opened before a wide range of interested public. The idea to create the Museum of Belarusian malavanka belonged to the former employee of the Zaslauje Museum-Reserve Yuri Malash, who did a lot for the theoretical development of this topic, as well as for the replenishment of the museum collection of malavanka carpets within the framework of expeditionary activities.
