Beaubears Island Interpretive Centre & Museum
Beaubears Island Interpretive Centre & Museum on the Miramichi River, New Brunswick, tells the story of Boishébert and Beaubears Island Shipbuilding National Historic Sites. The island was a refuge for Acadians during the Expulsion and later became a major 19th-century shipbuilding centre. Visitors take a ferry to the island for guided tours of the heritage trails, exhibits and reconstructed sites.
