Chestico Museum and Historical Society
Chestico Museum has operated as Port Hood's community heritage centre since 1986, sharing the history of this Cape Breton coastal town. Exhibits highlight the area's marine heritage during the Age of Sail, its early 20th-century coal mining heyday and its role as the county seat of Inverness. The collection — much of it drawn from the estate of merchant John Smith Hart — includes furnishings, photographs, ship models, fishing and agricultural implements and an extensive antique clothes-iron collection.
