Dory Shop Museum, The
The Dory Shop Museum is a working harbourside dory factory that has produced more than 50,000 wooden Shelburne dories since 1880. Ground-floor exhibits explore the dory's role in the Grand Banks fishery and its rise as the most popular small craft in the Atlantic provinces, while upstairs a resident Dory Builder still produces authentic boats using traditional skills. Part of Shelburne's Museums by the Sea, the site offers guided and self-guided tours in English and French and is wheelchair accessible on the ground floor.
