Centre du patrimoine (Société Historique de Saint-Boniface)

Founded in 1902, the Société historique de Saint-Boniface is the oldest Francophone historical society in Western Canada. Its Centre du patrimoine in Winnipeg is an archival and research centre dedicated to the preservation, study, promotion and presentation of the Francophone and Métis history of Manitoba and Western Canada. Among its 500+ archival fonds is the Louis Riel fonds, one of the most important collections of writings from the Métis leader and father of the province of Manitoba.
