Warkworth & District Museum
Set in the stunning Parry Kauri Park, the Warkworth District Museum opened in 1980 with the aim of preserving and sharing the history of Warkworth township, its surrounds and beyond.
Our museum cares for over 20,000 objects. Our artefacts provide a window into everyday life in the past, as well as important events such as the World Wars. We hold an impressive collection of textiles, including a broad range of clothing and domestic crafts dating back as far as the early 1800s. We have extensive archives that are available to researchers. We also have a collection of machinery, including historical farming equipment. Both archives and the machinery displays are open by appointment.
The objects published here are just a snapshot of our collections. Please contact us if you are looking for something specific.
