Tepelenë internment camp (1949–1954)
The Tepelenë Camp Memorial Museum commemorates one of the most important internment camps during Albania's communist regime. Established in the years 1949–1954 in former Italian barracks, the camp was used to deport families deemed "enemies of the government" by the regime. Today the site serves as a memorial and educational space, preserving historical testimony about communist-era persecution and suffering.
