Our Museum in Morioka City opened in 1970 with the goal of commemorating the life and work of Ishikawa Takuboku, one of the foremost poets of modern Japan.
The collection on display encompasses materials stretching from his early years in Shibutami to his final days in Tokyo, and includes letters written in his hand, notes, diary, mementos, photographs.
The primary school where Takuboku taught as a substitute teacher and the former Saito Home where he once lived were relocated to sites near the museum and are open to visitors.
