Akita Museum of Modern Art (AMMA) opened to the public in April of 1994. AMMA is one amenity built on the site of “Akita Furusato Mura” located in Yokote City, Akita prefecture. With its unique appearance, AMMA has become a local landmark. As a prefectural museum, AMMA particularly focuses on collecting and showing modern and contemporary works created by artists from Akita. You can enjoy the special exhibition (5 Floor) and permanent exhibition (6 Floor) as well as viewing the many sculptures displayed inside and outside of the museum.
