Museo Mitre
The Museo Mitre in Buenos Aires is housed in the historic residence where Bartolomé Mitre (1821–1906) — general, statesman, historian, and first constitutional President of a unified Argentina (1862–1868) — lived with his wife Delfina Vedia and their six children from 1859 until his death in 1906. The building is one of the few surviving structures of colonial origin in the city and served as the first presidential residence in Argentine history. The museum preserves Mitre's personal library of more than 60,000 volumes, documents, correspondence, weapons, and furnishings, alongside permanent galleries dedicated to his historical and literary legacy. It also hosts temporary exhibitions by contemporary artists.
