Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires

MALBA — the Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires — is one of Latin America's most important modern art museums. Opened in 2001 at Avenida Figueroa Alcorta 3415 in Buenos Aires' Palermo neighbourhood, MALBA holds a landmark collection of twentieth-century Latin American art, including celebrated works by Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Tarsila do Amaral, Wifredo Lam, Emilio Pettorutti, and Xul Solar. Founded to house the collection assembled by businessman Eduardo Constantini, MALBA presents an active programme of temporary exhibitions, film screenings (in its dedicated cinema), literary events, and public education programmes alongside its permanent galleries. The striking contemporary building, designed by the architectural firm Atelman, Fourcade, and Tapia, has become a landmark of Buenos Aires' cultural life.
