Museo Histórico de Buenos Aires Cornelio de Saavedra
The Museo Histórico Cornelio de Saavedra is a city of Buenos Aires museum named after Cornelio de Saavedra (1759–1829), the military officer and statesman who presided over the First Government Junta formed on 25 May 1810 following the May Revolution. The museum occupies a historic building and houses ten permanent exhibition halls that invite reflection on Argentine history, politics, economics, and society from the colonial era through the nineteenth century. Its collections include silverware, weapons, uniforms, furniture, documents, portraits, and decorative arts. The museum also offers temporary exhibitions, educational programmes, and accessibility services, and is supported by an active Friends Association.
