Museo Histórico Sarmiento
The Museo Histórico Sarmiento in Buenos Aires is dedicated to Domingo Faustino Sarmiento (1811–1888), one of Argentina's most influential statesmen, educators, and writers, who served as President of the Republic from 1868 to 1874. The museum is housed in a prestigious building designed by architect Juan Antonio Buschiazzo — one of the leading figures of Argentina's Generation of 1880 — and has served the public since the late nineteenth century. Its permanent exhibitions explore Sarmiento's literary output, particularly his landmark work "Facundo" (1845), his educational reforms, and his long political career, alongside the history of the building itself. The museum also mounts temporary shows and maintains an active programme of commemorative events linked to the Argentine civic calendar.
