Museo Histórico Provincial “Guillermo Enrique Hudson”

The Museo Histórico y Reserva Provincial Guillermo Enrique Hudson is dedicated to the life and work of William Henry Hudson (1841–1922), the British-Argentine naturalist, ornithologist, and writer who was born on this estancia in the Buenos Aires province. Hudson is celebrated for his evocative writings about the Argentine pampas and its birds, most notably in "Far Away and Long Ago" (1918) and "The Naturalist in La Plata" (1892). The location of his natal home was long uncertain until it was identified in 1929 by Dr. Fernando Pozzo, a devoted admirer and translator of Hudson's work, through the testimony of a local elder who remembered the family. The site now combines a historical museum with a provincial nature reserve, reflecting Hudson's dual legacy as a chronicler of both human and natural history on the pampas.
