Bezirksmuseum Hernals
The Bezirksmuseum Hernals presents a wide-ranging permanent exhibition on the history of Vienna's 17th district, including the legendary Schrammel quartet of Viennese folk music, the area's many former entertainment venues, and the long tradition of viticulture. Highlights include items from the estate of Josef Bratfisch (personal coachman to Crown Prince Rudolf), embroidered dresses worn by opera singer Betty Fischer, and memorabilia of the Schrammel brothers. A dedicated room covers the district's former factories, businesses, and shops. The museum is located on the 4th floor of the Bank Austria-Unicredit building, an Art Nouveau-era former savings bank.
