Bezirksmuseum Döbling
The Bezirksmuseum Döbling presents the history of Vienna's 19th district through prehistoric and early-history objects, artifacts from the area's former villages, and industrial exhibits including models of the Kahlenberg cog railway and cable car. The museum is housed in the historic Nonnenstöckl, originally a 13th-century Dominican monastic farm, and includes the adjoining Villa Wertheimstein with its 1900s-era salon, memorial rooms for writers Eduard von Bauernfeld and Ferdinand von Saar, and a staircase frescoed by Moritz von Schwind. A wine museum occupies the building's preserved medieval cellar with Gothic walls and Baroque vaulting (visit by appointment).
