Haydn Geburtshaus Rohrau

The Haydn Geburtshaus (Haydn Birthplace) in Rohrau is the rural Lower Austrian cottage where composer Joseph Haydn was born on 31 March 1732. The thatched farmhouse was built around 1728 by wagon master Mathias Haydn, and young Joseph spent the first six years of his life here. Carefully renovated between October 2016 and September 2017, it reopened as a renewed exhibition and event centre offering insights into the world of the Haydn brothers.
