Archäologisches Freilichtmuseum

The Archäologisches Freilichtmuseum in Schwarzenbach is a Celtic open-air museum on the Burgberg, recreating everyday life in a Celtic town as it may have existed around 500 BCE. Designed with the Vienna Institute for Archaeological Science and the Austrian Federal Monuments Authority, the site features nine reconstructed buildings—craftsmen's houses, storage buildings, and a noble house—alongside an exhibition room with original finds and multimedia presentations. The grounds are freely accessible year-round, with self-guided entry via coin turnstile.
