Benediktinerstift Seitenstetten
Stift Seitenstetten is a Benedictine monastery founded in 1112 by nobleman Udalschalk von Stille und Heft, populated by Benedictine monks from Göttweig Abbey, and known as the "Vierkanter Gottes" (Quadrangle of God) in the heart of the Mostviertel region. The complex took on its current Baroque appearance between 1718 and 1737 under architect Joseph Munggenast. Highlights include the abbey gallery and chapel art collections, the historical Hofgarten, marble hall, library, archive, and natural history collections.
