Freilichtmuseum Ledermühle

The Freilichtmuseum Ledermühle in St. Oswald bei Freistadt is one of the oldest and the last surviving of eight mills that once operated in the parish. First documented in a sale contract dated 20 August 1413, the mill ceased commercial milling under its last master miller Ernst Kerschbaummayr in 1967. Today the restored Ledermühle, run by a dedicated heritage association, is a registered open-air museum on the Mühlviertler Museumsstraße that focuses on traditional crafts, technology and industrial history.
