Benediktinerstift Lambach
Stift Lambach is a Benedictine monastery on a hilltop above the Traun river, founded in 1056 by Bishop Adalbero. The "Marienkloster an der Traun" preserves nearly 1000-year-old frescoes, a baroque monastery theatre, the great and small library halls, the Summer Refectory and Ambulatorium, the convent garden, the abbey church and treasury, and the Sacrament Chapel and Loreto Chapel. The Stiftsbibliothek and archives include manuscripts, charters, music collections and paintings.
