Heimathaus Braunau mit Glockengießerei
The Heimathaus mit Glockengießerei in Braunau am Inn houses the oldest bell-foundry workshop in the German-speaking region — the original Glockengießerwerkstatt dating from around 1385 — alongside a well-preserved local history museum. Exhibits include a Rauchküche (smoke kitchen), a Bürgerstube with Baroque and Biedermeier furniture, rooms dedicated to the local historian and museum founder Hugo von Preen and to the Fink shipping master family, a fine collection of reverse-glass paintings from Raimundsreut and Sandl (the latter recognised as UNESCO national cultural heritage in 2012), and a Donauschwaben memorial room. A rural section, designed by Preen around 1910, displays original Innviertler tools and folk-belief objects.
