Archäologisches Freilichtmuseum Goldbichl
The Archäologisches Freilichtmuseum Goldbichl sits atop the 1,064 m Goldbichl hill south of Innsbruck, the site of an over-regionally significant Bronze Age cult place and burnt offering sanctuary. Excavations concluded in 2003, after which the site was developed as an open-air museum, with an archaeology learning trail opened in 2006 that reaches the summit in about 15 minutes. On-site texts and a terrain model interpret both the cultic and everyday aspects of this prehistoric place; additional finds and a site model are displayed at the Igls tourism association.
