Bergbaumuseum Hall

The Bergbaumuseum Hall in Tirol re-creates the salt mines of the Halltal in the heart of Hall's old town. A purpose-built tunnel under the medieval streets shows shafts, tools, minerals and a wooden slide that give visitors a sense of working underground. The salt mining that funded medieval Hall ran from about 1244 to 1967 and is now told here through guided tours only.
