Archäologisches Museum Fließ und Dokumentationszentrum Via Claudia Augusta
The Archäologisches Museum Fließ and Documentation Centre Via Claudia Augusta brings together an ancient Widum building housing the archaeological collection with a modern building devoted to the Roman road. Highlights include finds from the prehistoric sacrificial site at Gachen Blick (weapons, jewellery, and coins from 1,400 BCE to 400 CE), the Moosbruckschrofen Bronze Age hoard of 350 items—the largest Bronze Age find in Europe—and the Hallstatt-era Fließ treasure of 386 objects. A fragment of what is regarded as Europe's oldest crested helmet is on display, alongside a copy of the Tabula Peutingeriana. Guided tours to the Gachen Blick burnt offering site are available.
