Murauer Handwerksmuseum
The Murauer Handwerksmuseum (Murau Craft Museum), housed since 1975 in the former Capuchin monastery of Murau, Styria, presents 19 historic crafts that were once practiced in the town, including original period workshops. Since 2016 the museum has broadened its scope to become an archive of historical knowledge, a venue for contemporary learning and innovation, and a space for community encounter. Permanent displays focus on crafts such as textiles — historically central to the local economy — while special exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and events explore old craft techniques and their new applications in collaboration with artists.
