Benediktinerstift Admont. Bibliothek & Museum

Stift Admont's library and museum complex includes the world's largest monastery library, completed in 1776, which displays around 60,000 of the abbey's 200,000-volume collection beneath seven baroque ceiling frescoes by Bartolomeo Altomonte. Under one roof, visitors can explore the Natural History Museum, Art History Museum, Gothic Museum and Museum of Contemporary Art alongside changing special exhibitions. The collection includes more than 1,400 manuscripts (from the 8th century onwards) and 530 incunabula.
