Ingeborg Bachmann Haus Klagenfurt

The Ingeborg Bachmann Haus in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee is a memorial museum dedicated to Ingeborg Bachmann (1926–1973), one of the most important Austrian-language poets and writers of the 20th century. Preserved in her childhood and family home on Henselstraße, the museum makes tangible the everyday environment in which Bachmann grew up, alongside the literary and cultural world that shaped her work. The property is now owned jointly by the State of Carinthia and the City of Klagenfurt and administered by the Carinthian State Museum.
