Bunkermuseum Wurzenpass/Kärnten

The Bunkermuseum Wurzenpass in Carinthia preserves Austria's largest contiguous Cold War defensive position. Built in secrecy and only opened to the public in 2005, the site comprises seven bunkers connected by tunnel-like passageways and combat positions, all maintained in their original condition. The museum was created as a private initiative by the last commander of the Wurzen militia blocking company and includes a unique collection of military equipment, with optional rides on a tank as part of the visitor experience.
