Goolwa Museum-National Trust
Built around 1872 as a blacksmith's shop, the Goolwa Museum displays the history of Goolwa, Currency Creek and Hindmarsh Island in South Australia. Permanent and changing exhibitions interpret the area's stories from pre-European settlement to today, supported by an archive of several thousand files and photographs that includes maritime historian Ronald Parsons' shipping collection. Notable items include Pop (Gerhard) Kaesler's 1929 "Home from Home" — widely regarded as one of Australia's first motorhomes — and a community art gallery, "Art @ Goolwa", on the property. The museum is operated by the National Trust of South Australia.
