Experiment Farm Cottage

Experiment Farm Cottage in Harris Park (Western Sydney) is the site of Australia's first convict land grant, given to James Ruse in 1789. The c.1835 Indian-style bungalow now houses original 19th-century furnishings and tells the story of Ruse's pioneering experiment in colonial self-sufficiency on Burramatta Dharug country. The site is operated by the National Trust of Australia (NSW).
