Auburn Old Police Station and Courthouse Museum National Trust

The Auburn Old Police Station and Courthouse Museum in the Clare Valley, South Australia, occupies a distinctive 1860 building (extended in 1865) constructed by stonemason Joseph Mellor with field stones, Watervale sandstone and Auburn bluestone. Dedicated to the National Trust in 1973, the museum and tearooms display police uniforms, equipment and memorabilia of local law enforcement alongside legal documents illustrating 19th-century judicial processes, and also tell the story of its builder.
