Jamestown Railway Station Museum-National Trust
The Jamestown Railway Station Museum is housed in the historic Jamestown Railway Station, built in 1885 to replace the original timber-framed building that burnt down in 1884. Opened as a museum during the 1971 District Centenary Celebrations, the collection reflects the bygone way of life of farming and town families in the district. Highlights include the history of the Bundaleer Forest, the beginnings of businesses such as Southern Farmers and MS McLeod Ltd, personal items and biographical information of Sir John Cockburn (SA Premier 1889–90), and information about other notable South Australians including Reginald M. Williams.
