Ballarat Aviation Museum

The Ballarat Aviation Museum, located at Ballarat Airport, preserves the history of the former RAAF base that was home to the No.1 Wireless and Gunners School during and after WWII. The museum features a diverse collection of static aircraft including a Wirraway, Dove, Flying Flea, Ligeti Stratos, and Iskra cockpit, plus Malkara and Ikara missiles, aerial cameras, a Link trainer, and an extensive display of piston and early jet engines. Group tours are welcomed and the museum adjoins a hangar housing flying aircraft.
