Kawara Museum・Library of Takahama City

The Kawara Museum・Library in Takahama City, Aichi is Japan's only art museum dedicated to kawara (roof tiles), showcasing Sanshu kawara tiles from the surrounding region alongside roof tiles and ceramics from across Japan and the world. Takahama has been a centre of tile production for centuries, and the museum celebrates this heritage through its permanent collection, special exhibitions, and hands-on ceramics workshops. In 2023 the museum was merged with the city library to become a combined cultural facility.
