The Damiaanmuseum in Tremelo, Belgium preserves, researches, and presents the heritage of Father Damien (Jozef De Veuster) from a multifaceted perspective, guiding visitors through his life and demonstrating his continuing contemporary relevance. Father Damien, who cared for leprosy patients in Hawaii, was canonized as a saint in 2009.
