The HIKARU Museum is a comprehensive museum and art gallery that opened in April 1999 in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. The museum, which has three floors underground and one floor above ground and is based on the motif of the ruins of ancient civilisations, houses and exhibits a wide range of Western paintings, calligraphy, Japanese paintings, crafts, fossils and archaeological artefacts, including national treasures and important cultural assets such as the Tachi sword.
