Museo Nacional de Etnografia y Folklore

The Museo Nacional de Etnografía y Folklore (MUSEF) in La Paz is Bolivia's principal ethnographic museum, dedicated to the preservation and research of the country's extraordinary cultural and ethnic diversity. Founded in 1962, it houses extensive collections of textiles, masks, ceramics, musical instruments, and ritual objects from Bolivia's many indigenous nations, including the Aymara, Quechua, Guaraní, and more than thirty other ethnic groups. The museum is headquartered in the historic Palacio de los Marqueses de Villaverde in central La Paz, and conducts active research programmes, publications, and educational outreach on Bolivian ethnographic heritage.
