China National Tea Museum (Longjing)

The China National Tea Museum (Zhongguo Cha Ye Bowuguan), opened in 1991, is China's only state-level museum dedicated to tea culture, set among Hangzhou's Longjing tea hills near West Lake. Permanent galleries trace the development of Chinese tea culture, world tea cultures, the famed Longjing tea, donated tea wares and traditional Chinese tea-making — recently inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Visitors can attend tea ceremonies, see specimens of teas and antique tea utensils, and explore the museum's tea-learning centre and cultural shop.
